1930–1933:The Spanish Arts Shop opens at Sena Plaza on East Palace Avenue, providing a year-round venue for art sales and management by various individuals.1934–1937:Native Market is conceived by Leonora Curtin as the next iteration of Spanish Market, operating further east on Palace Avenue at El Parian Analco. The Market becomes a showplace with various activities beyond art sales.

Pause and Resurgence
1940:Spanish Market ceases to operate during and after World War II.1965:Traditional Spanish Market is revived as an annual event, initially under the portal of the First National Bank of Santa Fe. It later moves to the portal at the Palace of the Governors, where participating artists grow in number.

1972:Spanish Market separates from Indian Market, adding new art categories and expanding booths around the Plaza.1981:The Youth Market is introduced to ensure the continuation of living traditions.
