Whether you are new to the Market or a current artist interested in jurying into a new art form, we warmly welcome your participation.
This cherished event brings together tradition, art, and community to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Spanish Colonial arts in New Mexico and Southern Colorado. We deeply appreciate your interest and are here to support you with any questions you may have throughout the application process.
Application Details:
There are two application forms available for the 2026 Traditional Spanish Market cycle:
New Artist Screening Application – for individuals who wish to apply and become part of the Market for the first time or are returning.
New Category Screening Application – for existing Market artists who would like to jury into a new art form.
Both applications include eligibility requirements (for new artists), questions that assess your knowledge of the category you are applying for, and the ability to submit photographs of your work. Please be prepared to upload three (3) photos for each category you wish to screen into, whether you are a new or current artist.
Important Dates and Information:
Application Deadline: January 26, 2026, by 5:00 PM MT
All application forms and required photographs must be submitted by this deadline.
Screening & Jury Timeline
Results from the preliminary screening will be released approximately 10–14 business days after the application deadline.
If you pass the preliminary screening, you will be invited to participate in an in-person jury, where your artwork will be evaluated by a panel of jurors. Jury Day is estimated to take place in early April.

Artists who successfully pass the jury will be invited to participate in the 2026 Traditional Spanish Market on the Santa Fe Plaza!

Eligibility Requirements:
To apply for the 2026 Traditional Spanish Market, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Artwork must follow the Traditional Spanish Market Guidelines
- You must demonstrate active participation in New Mexican culture and Spanish Colonial arts.
- You must be 18 Years or older.
- You must be at least 1/4 Hispanic.
- You must be born in New Mexico or Southern Colorado.
*** If you were not born in New Mexico or Southern Colorado, you may still qualify by demonstrating a definite historic and cultural connection to New Mexico. This can be shown through: Family lineage, Genealogical records, and Geographic ties.***
